Notes on Ingredients

All you need to make these gluten-free apple muffins are a few simple ingredients from the grocery store. For best results, there are a few important notes on ingredients you should keep in mind.

  • gluten-free rolled oats – Soak the dry oats in warm water. Press the oats into a strainer to squeeze out any remaining water. Make sure that you drain them well so that the batter doesn’t get too wet.
  • apples – Grated. You may substitute diced or chopped apples. Make sure to drain the apples so that the batter doesn’t get too wet. The best way to do this is to roll them in a piece of parchment paper and squeeze the juice out of them.
  • almond flour – May substitute another gluten-free flour like coconut flour or oat flour. See this handy Guide to Gluten-Free Flours by Minimalist Baker.
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil – May substitute another type of cooking oil like, avocado oil, melted coconut oil, or vegetable oil.
